Several weeks ago, I was interviewed by Trey Carland for his podcast Question the Orthodox. Trey is a spiritual teacher and author of A Seeker's Guide to Inner Peace: Notes to Self (2011). Based in Asheville, North Carolina, "Trey is the founder of the Asheville Sangha online community, which was developed for people interested in non-duality, self-realization, meditation, enlightenment, etc. He also facilitates Awakening Support Group meetings in the Asheville area, which feature the teachings of many prominent spiritual teachers. Trey also offers one on one consultations for those interested in discovering their True Nature. You can follow his current writings through his blog: http://compassion-blog.blogspot.com."

Below is Trey's description of our talk:
"I recently interviewed author, teacher and our good friend, Michael Hall, about his spiritual path. In this interview, Michael describes his spiritual path of Zen Buddhism and subsequent awakening experience(s) that led to an end to identification with the sense of a separate self (aka ego). He talks about how this shift influenced the way he interacted with clients as a clinical psychologist. We also discussed the scientific evidence that dispels the idea of free will, and what the implications are of that discovery.
Michael's book,
Awake and Alive: Being What You Already Are, is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions. He is currently hosting regular online meditation group meetings through his Facebook page. You can listen to my interview with Michael on my
Question the Orthodox podcast site, where you will also find some other interviews I've done and some guided meditations I've recorded. InJoy
